Tucked within a 1,500-acre private reserve in the heart of Guanacaste,
Rio Perdido is surrounded by volcanic landscape, a rare dwarf forest, and the property’s naturally heated thermal river.
Designed in harmony with its surroundings, Rio Perdido feels secluded and untouched while still offering the comfort of a thoughtfully designed wellness retreat.
Elevated pathways wind through the forest connecting the bungalows, thermal river, pools, spa, hiking trails, and cliffside yoga platforms.
At the heart of the reserve, a thermal gorge stretches for nearly a kilometer, creating natural hot springs where you can soak, swim, and slow down beneath the forest canopy.
During our five days together, Rio Perdido becomes the backdrop for a retreat centered around movement, adventure, restoration, and connection.

Each day is intentionally designed to create a balance between movement, adventure, restoration, and connection.
Mornings begin with movement before gathering for breakfast, while the days invite you to experience everything that makes Rio Perdido so special.
We’ll explore the reserve, soak in the natural thermal river, spend time in nature, share nourishing meals, and make space for both adventure and rest.
Throughout the retreat, expect daily yoga and movement, guided experiences, time in the thermal waters, opportunities to explore the surrounding trails, and slower moments by the pool or tucked away in a hammock.
Evenings bring us back together for restorative practices, shared dinners, conversation, and connection.
Everything is thoughtfully curated, while still leaving space to choose what you need each day.

For our stay at Rio Perdido, all guests will be accommodated in the property’s East Bungalows, modern and sustainably designed spaces immersed in the surrounding forest.
Each 42-square-meter bungalow features a private elevated terrace with a hammock, offering a quiet space to enjoy your morning coffee, read, or simply take in the landscape.
Inside, two twin beds can remain separate or be joined to create one king-sized bed, making the bungalows ideal for solo travelers, friends sharing a room, or couples.
Each bungalow also includes a daybed, private bathroom with walk-in shower, floor-to-ceiling sandblasted windows, lighted makeup mirror, mini fridge and coffee station, desk area, closet, flat-screen TV, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi.
Warm wood accents, polished concrete, stainless steel, and natural textures create a space that feels modern and elevated without taking away from the surrounding environment.
